Samuels said: "As point guard, I felt it was important to take control of the tempo immediately. I wanted to look the defender in the eyes and take him to the rack, put some fear in his heart that I and we weren't backing down. We were a senior team and were driven. We came together and played our hearts out."

Smith said: "Steve was our best defender and could guard any position. He was our leader. If there was anyone he couldn't beat off the dribble, I haven't met him yet. He passed the ball, set up teammates, rebounded. Whatever we needed him to do, he did. He was the starting point guard on the highest division title team; therefore he was the best point guard in the state,"

Up next: Is considering
FresnoState, St. Bonaventure, St. Peter's and Tulsa.
